Women in Tel Aviv protest against US President Trump, join worldwide campaign.

Hundreds of protesters joined a Women’s March yesterday, against US President Donald Trump, in what they said was a show of solidarity with the main protest that took place in Washington DC. The protest was held in front of the American Embassy in Tel Aviv, with most of the women defining themselves as liberal, dual Israeli-American nationals.

“I am here at the sister march because I think it’s essential, that there be solidarity with women all around the world to stand up to Trump and what the Trump administration stand for, the disrespect for women, the disrespect for LGBT rights, civil rights, climate warming – all of these issues are global issues and critical issues. It’s really important that he get the message not just from America but the entire world, and I want to be a part of that,” said Tamata Lee Canner, Israeli-American Protester.

“I’m here because I believe that Donald Trump is a sexist, I believe he is a misogynist and I also believe that he is extremely racist and I think that we shouldn’t have people like that as the president of one of the greatest countries in the world,” said Jonina Franklin Yoeli, Israeli-American Protester The protest in Tel Aviv coincided with hundreds of protests worldwide, which according to the organizers’ website, more than two million marchers were expected to protest against Donald Trump, who was sworn in as the 45th US President on Friday.
