US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that Washington would not permit the UN Security Council to pass resolutions on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as long as the Palestinians did not return to the negotiating table. Haley stressed that the Trump Administration had a declared goal of bringing Israel and the Palestinians to the table for direct negotiations, to once and for all end the decades old conflict.
Haley also said that since the US was the current president of the UN Security Council, the monthly meeting on the Middle East in the next 2.5 weeks would not focus this time on Israel, but rather on Iranian terror, on Hezbollah and Syria.
