The Israeli military has reinforced its forces across the West Bank, in the wake of the shooting attack at the Ofra junction earlier this week. The reinforcements consist of several companies that will, according to an IDF statement, focus on providing roadside security for Israeli civilians in addition to assisting the in the ongoing search for the terrorists responsible for committing the drive-by shooting attack, conducted in parts of the Palestinian city of Ramallah, where they are suspected to have fled. Meanwhile; Palestinian sources reported yesterday that IDF troops arrested four Palestinians and that several people were injured in clashes with the army.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian driver reportedly rammed his car into an Israeli border-police vehicle, after which he attempted to drive into a group of officers who were securing the area. According to police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld, the border-police force, which was operating near the West Bank city of Hebron, responded to the threat and opened fire at the attacker’s vehicle. Following a police inquiry, Palestinian medical teams confirmed the man’s death, at the scene, but gave no further details regarding the incident.
