A series of terror attacks plagued Israel during the day, in which a number of Israeli soldiers and police officers were wounded in two separate incidents. The first incident occurred in the Old City of Jerusalem early this morning, when a 26 years-old Palestinian resident of the West Bank, stabbed and moderately wounded two border-police officers. In CCTV footage that was obtained by TV7, the terrorist was seen attempting to stab a Jewish civilian, after which he rushed towards the two officers, who responded by opening fire and killing the Palestinian attacker. While the two officers were taken to a hospital in Jerusalem for treatment for stab wounds, the Israeli civilian was not harmed and was not in need of medical attention.
Several hours after the stabbing attack in Jerusalem, a drive-by shooting attack was reported on route 60, which is the main highway that runs through the West Bank. The IDF spokesperson’s unit revealed that a terrorist existed his vehicle in the Asaf Junction, east of Ramallah, and opened fire toward IDF soldiers and civilians who were standing at a bus station. While the Spokesperson’s statement did not elaborate on whether there were casualties in the incident, a military source informed TV7 that two IDF soldiers were killed as a result of the attack and two others, including one civilian, sustained serious injuries. While the IDF noted that the terrorists managed to flee the scene and as a result, IDF troops have launched a wide-scale manhunt after the Palestinian attackers, no further details were provided on the matter and the IDF spokesperson’s unit refused to elaborate on TV7’s request for additional information.
