Washington is reportedly preparing to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps as a “foreign terrorist organization.” It would be the first time any U.S. administration has classified an entire foreign government entity as such; although the State Department has previously black-listed the IRGC’s elite Quds Force.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif responded to the move on his Twitter account, and blamed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the decision by U.S. President Donald Trump. Zarif further asserted that “President Trump should know better than to be conned into another U.S. disaster.”
