President Donald Trump: ‘Iran has not lived up to the spirit of the nuclear agreement’

US President Donald Trump declared, in a meeting with the general staff of the United States military, that the Islamic Republic of Iran was not living up to the spirit of the nuclear agreement, while vowing that Washington will do whatever is necessary to put an end to Iran’s continued aggression. Trump said, “We must not allow Iran to attain to obtain nuclear weapons. The Iranian regime supports terrorism and exports violence, bloodshed and chaos across the Middle East, that is why we must put an end to Iran’s continued aggression and nuclear ambitions. They have not lived up to the spirit of their agreement,” he declared.

President Trump, who has called the nuclear agreement an “embarrassment” and “the worst deal ever negotiated” must decide by the 15th of October whether Iran was complying with the international nuclear agreement that was reached in 2015 between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1, which consisted out of Russia, China, France, Britain, Germany and the United States under his predecessor, former President Barack Obama. In addition to Iran’s compliance to the agreement, President Trump will also have to decide whether the deal was in the best interest of the United States.
While US officials have indicated to TV7 that Trump was leaning toward decertifying the nuclear deal, the President has stated in recent days that he has already made up his mind on the matter.

Meanwhile, President Trump instructed his military’s general staff to provide him with “a broad range of military options” and to overcome the challenges of bureaucracy that impair the President’s ability to act in a decisive manner. President Trump said, “Moving forward I also expect you to provide me with a broad range of military options when needed at a much faster pace. I know that government bureaucracy is slow but I am depending on you to overcome the obstacles of bureaucracy,” Trump stressed.

Following his work meeting with the US military’s general staff, President Trump hinted when posed for a photo that the moment may represent “the calm before the storm,” yet refused to elaborate on the matter.
