Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concluded a two day visit to the city-state of Singapore, during which he held meetings with the country’s President and Prime minister. Benjamin Netanyahu, who conducted his first official visit to Singapore as Israel’s Prime Minister, told his counterpart Lee Hsien Loong that he believes the two countries are kindred spirits, while stressing that “collaboration in all areas between the two nations would make both Jerusalem and Singapore all the more successful.”
In response to a statement, in which Singapore’s Prime Minister Loong expressed hope to see Israel and the Palestinians resume direct negotiations that would bring about a peace agreement, Prime Minister Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to peace and revealed that efforts are being made behind closed doors to restart a political process, together with ‘regional partners’.
