A Palestinian woman reportedly stabbed and injured an Israeli female soldier, in what police said was a nationalistically motivated terror attack. The incident took place at the Kalandia Checkpoint near Jerusalem. The soldier, who was identified as 28-years old, was initially treated at the scene before she was taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah medical center. Police said Israeli security forces stationed at the scene managed to subdue the attacker, a Palestinian resident of the West Bank.
This was the second attack over the weekend. Yesterday afternoon, A Palestinian teenager stabbed and injured four Israelis in Tel Aviv before he was apprehended by police forces. The four victims, a 70 year-old man and two men and one woman in their 50s, were taken to Ichilov Hospital in light condition. Police revealed that the assailant had entered Israel from the West Bank on a permit that was secured for him by an organization, which brings Palestinians to Israel on tours that are meant to alleviate feelings of hatred for Israel. Following the terror attack, the IDF suspended the ‘visiting-permits’ that are given to institutions and organizations that seek to advance coexistence and peace, until the end of the police investigation into the incident.
