Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during a ceremony at his residence in Jerusalem for the Jewish New Year, praised Israel’s defense establishment which the Israeli leader said are a barrier between those who seek to harm the people of Israel and Israeli citizens.
“We are in the midst of the Tishrei holydays, we know that this is a time when terrorists and inciters are attempting to ignite fires. It requires vigilance on the part of all citizens and especially the security forces that are working day and night to protect us and to be a barrier and a wall between those murderers and the citizens of Israel and I salute the police officers, the soldiers, the men and women of the Shin Bait, and all security forces. We know that without their work the reality would have been different and thanks to their work we are able to maintain our security, our way of life and our country,” said Netanyahu.
The Israeli leader also praised the state of Israel which gives Jews the opportunity to protect themselves, as opposed to the days before the inception of the Jewish state, a reality that Netanyahu said has gained the respect of the international community.
