An unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicle managed to penetrate Israeli airspace from Lebanon, after which it returned safely back across the border’s security-barrier.
The IDF spokesperson’s unit said that the drone was observing the movements and positioning of Israeli troops. The incident occurred midday, when the drone crossed over the western sector of the border, over the town of Shlomi, which is located in Israel’s Western Galilee region.
Israeli Air Force fighter-aircrafts scrabbled to the area to follow the vehicle’s flight path, although it was not shot down. The IDF said in response that an investigation was launched into the incident. No additional information was made available regarding this incident.
