Israel’s Defense Minister vows Iran will not obtain nuclear weapons capabilities

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman vowed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. At a conference organized by Israeli new agency Ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth daily, the Israeli top defense official reiterated Israel’s determination to thwart Iran’s aspirations of acquiring nuclear weapons. Minister Lieberman further asserted that Israel would also continue its activities to assure Iran’s failure in establishing a military presence in Syria, warning Tehran to take his words seriously. When asked about Israel’s preparedness ahead of a future war, Defense Minister Lieberman noted that while the preparedness in the country’s south, along the border with Gaza, was relatively good; he warned of bad preparedness among the residents of northern Israel, along the borders of Lebanon and Syria.
