Tensions continue to run high on Israel’s southern frontier.
Palestinian-Islamists attempted to launch a rocket from the Gaza Strip toward Israel’s southern communities last night, although the projectile failed to cross into Israeli territory. Thankfully, no injuries or damage were reported. In response, the Israeli Air Force launched a retaliatory strike against a Hamas observation post in the northern Gaza Strip.
Despite claims by Hamas source that “rogue militants” were responsible for the rocket fire in apparent efforts to disassociate the Islamist group from the failed attack, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit told TV7 that it holds Hamas responsible for any terror-related activities emanating from the Palestinian enclave.
