Israel to escalate efforts against Iran on all fronts

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Israel’s intention to step up efforts against Iran’s web of aggression in the Middle East. In remarks the Israeli leader made at a trilateral summit with the leaders of Cyprus and Greece, Netanyahu stressed that the plans to escalate Israel’s efforts against the Islamic Republic and its proxies, in both Syria and Lebanon, are in full coordination and support from the United States. According to him, “We are continuing our efforts to neutralize the terror-tunnels. At this hour, we are employing special tools to neutralize these tunnels. We will continue to act in a very aggressive manner against Iran’s efforts to entrench itself (militarily) in Syria. In these two arenas (Syria and Lebanon) we do not plan to mitigate our efforts, rather, we will escalate them. And I know that we are doing so with full support from the United States. The statement by Prime Minister Netanyahu came after he held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump on the expected withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria, and on the implications of the move. The Prime Minister’s office in Jerusalem revealed that the two leaders discussed, among others, “ways to continue cooperation between Israel and the United States against the Iranian aggression” across the Middle East.
