The Jewish state marked today its annual Holocaust Remembrance Day, with a two-minute siren sounding at 10:00 this morning, in memory of the six-million-Jews that perished during World War Two. During the day, ceremonies were held throughout the country, with the opening state ceremony held last night, attended by Israel’s leadership and dignitaries from around the world.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the events of the last few days showed that standing up to evil and aggression was a mission incumbent upon each generation, with no exemption. Netanyahu has once again made an analogy between Nazi Germany and the Islamic Republic of Iran, drawing a parallel between the Munich agreement that was signed between leaders of the free world and Nazi Germany in 1938, to the Iranian nuclear agreement signed in July of 2015.
Netanyahu emphasized that while international powers believe the nuclear agreement with Iran would thwart its aspiration from acquiring nuclear weapons, history provides us with a clear proof to the contrary. The Israeli Prime Minister went on to warn the rulers of Iran not to test the State of Israel’s determination, asserting that if it were to challenge Jerusalem, the regime in Tehran will cease to exist.
