Iranian Foreign Minister Claims the U.S. Failed in Attaining Global Consensus against Iran

The Islamic Republic’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed that efforts by the United States to garner global consensus against the Ayatollah regime have utterly failed. In an address to the University of Tehran on Iran’s foreign policy, Zarif asserted that Washington’s initiatives to unite the world on abandonment of the Iranian nuclear agreement indicates that the ‘age of unilateralism and Western hegemony’ is fading, while ‘global multilateralism’ has emerged instead.

Minister Zarif also disputed the sincerity of Washington and Jerusalem’s purported concern over Tehran’s nuclear and military ambition; arguing that “Netanyahu and American radicals” were instead primarily engaged in attempts to isolate. While so far this mission has been unsuccessful, he said, those efforts are expected to continue in the future.
