Iran-Russia hail bilateral and security relations

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani
praised bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries on
Middle East security, as they held talks on the sidelines of a Caspian
summit. Among others, President Rouhani named work on the multinational
nuclear deal and their joint military operations in Syria among the greatest
achievements that Moscow and Tehran attained together. During the Caspian
summit, Russia and Iran, together with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and
Turkmenistan, signed a convention on the Caspian Sea’s legal status, a
matter disputed between the five countries for more than two decades. The
leaders of the five countries who gathered in the Kazakh port city of Aktau
said the agreements signed at the summit included economic aspects as well
as security cooperation.
