Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned of ongoing efforts by militant Islam to attack the civilization that values liberty peace and progress – Islamic terrorism that does not differentiate between Arabs, Europeans or Israelis. In a joint press conference with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borrisov, Netanyahu underscored the importance of working together to stand firm in the face of militant Islam, a battle for the future for common enlightened values . “we are part of the same civilization, a civilization that values liberty, peace and progress and today this civilization is under attack most notably by the forces of militant Islam. Militant Islam attacks all of us, it attacks Arabs, it attacks Europeans, it attacks Israelis, it attacks everyone. The most potent fore of militant Islam is the Iranian regime.”/ ”This is not merely a battle over the future of our countries, but for the future of our common values and our common civilizations. By cooperating we are stronger, we are stronger together,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Israeli leader further stressed that the most potent force of militant Islam remains the Islamic Republic of Iran, which “devours one nation after another.” To prove his claim, Netanyahu revealed that Israel had ” recently uncovered several Iranian attempts to launch terrorist attacks on the soil of Europe,” yet refrained from elaborating further. “The most potent force of militant Islam is the Iranian regime, its devouring one nation after the other, in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and elsewhere, and its killing civilians around the world. We uncovered recently several Iranian attempts to launch terrorist attacks on the soil of Europe and we stand together in this battle against terrorism and against militant Islam,” Netanyahu said.
After revealing attempted acts of terror by Iranian agents in France, Luxembourg, Austria, Belgium and Germany; the latest victim of Iran’s malign activities is Denmark. Danish intelligence agencies have blamed Tehran, earlier this week, for a foiled plot to assassinate an Iranian opposition activist, who resides in Denmark. While the plot was uncovered in September, triggering a massive police operation nationwide, Denmark’s Intelligence Services apprehended – whom they classify as the main suspect of the assassination attempt – an EU resident of Iranian origins. While the Islamic Republic portrayed the Danish incident as an effort to harm European-Iranian relations at a time when they are under mounting pressure from the United States; Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen said that Copenhagen will head efforts in the European Union to advance sanctions against the Iranian regime. According to the Danish top diplomat, his country’s Intelligence Agencies have provided clear evidence with regard to those behind the assassination plot, “the arrow is pointing at the Iranian intelligence service.” Meanwhile, Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen, following a meeting with his British counterpart Theresa May, revealed in a statement on his twitter account that Denmark, the United Kingdom and other countries “will stand up to Iran.”
