The Islamic Republic of Iran is seemingly stepping-up its provocative campaign directed at the United States.
Satellite images reveal that the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps has transported a mock aircraft carrier to the strategic Strait of Hormuz, where it is expected to conduct a series of naval war games in the near future.
While a spokesperson for the U.S. Navy’s Bahrain-based 5th Fleet noted that she “cannot speak to what Iran hopes to gain by building this mock-up, or what tactical value they would hope to gain by using such a mock-up in a training or offensive exercise scenario,” she emphasized that the 5th Fleet remains confident in its ability to defend itself against any maritime threat.
