A Palestinian driver rammed his vehicle into a bus stop, injuring a pedestrian, before Israeli troops at the scene shot and critically wounded the assailant who later died from his wounds. The incident, which took place at the West Bank junction of Gush Etzion, a scene of many past attacks, was the latest in a perceived rise in street violence by Palestinians against Israelis, in the form of car rammings, stabbings and shooting attacks, which claimed the lives, since October of 2015, some 41 Israelis, two visiting American tourists and one British foreign exchange student, who was murdered in a stabbing attack last Friday.
