The IDF intercepted an unmanned aerial reconnaissance vehicle operated from Gaza, immediately after it infiltrated Israeli airspace. Israeli radar systems tracked the drone from the time it entered the country from the northern sector of the Islamist Hamas-run territory, to the skies above the southern Israeli communal kibbutzim of Zikim and Karmiya. Troops downed the Palestinian U.A.V., and it was taken for further inspection by military personnel.
As previously reported by TV7, the IDF decided last month to purchase special anti-drone rifles that are capable of firing explosive charges, disrupting U.A.V.- frequencies and seize control of the unmanned aerial vehicles.
