Hezbollah fires at IDF drone in Lebanese airspace

The Iranian-proxy Hezbollah reportedly fired a surface-to-air missile at an Israeli Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, UAV, that was conducting a routine reconnaissance mission in Lebanese airspace. The Hezbollah-affiliated Al-Manar News Network reported that after the drone was targeted in the southern region of the country with “appropriate weapons” it was forced to abandon its mission and retreat back into Israeli airspace.

While domestic Israeli news agencies claimed that the military drone was gathering intelligence on Hezbollah targets in close proximity to Israel, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit underscored that it does not disclose its operational activities. That said, an IDF Spokesperson confirmed to TV7 that “an anti-aircraft missile was launched over Lebanese territory towards an IDF UAV,” while further emphasizing that “The UAV was not hit.”
