The Islamist-Hamas organization claimed that its operatives successfully shot down an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle that was flying over the Gaza Strip. The drone is believed to have been in the skies over an area east of Khan Yunis in the southern part of the enclave.
According to a Hamas official, members of the organization’s military wing, the Izz al-Din al Qassam Brigades, opened fire toward the Israeli UAV before it crashed fell to the earth. The Islamist-operatives were immediately deployed to the location where they recovered debris of the aircraft.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit told TV7 that “overnight, an IDF unmanned aerial vehicle has crashed within Gazan territory, likely as a result of hostile fire,” although declined to provide us with additional details.
