Almost 18 months into the IDF counter-offensive against the HAMAS perpetrators of the October 7 massacre, and the foreseeable end of the Gaza war is still up in the air, or rather down in the tunnels.
Negotiations on terms for releasing the remainder of the Israeli hostages have stalled. Military operations against HAMAS leaders and forces have resumed. The fate of the Gaza Strip itself and its more than two million inhabitants hangs in the balance.
