3 ballistic missiles were successfully intercepted over Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh, as well as the cities of Najran and Jizan. According to the Kingdom’s-led coalition in Yemen, 8 explosives-laden drone aircraft were also shot down.
The Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen have claimed responsibility for the attack. Furthermore, in a statement by their spokesman, they evidently confessed to using Iranian-produced missiles and drones.
“Our missiles, models Quds, Zulfiqar, and three Sammad drones hit military headquarters in the Saudi enemy’s capital, which include the Defense Ministry, Military Intelligence Headquarters, King Salman Air Force Base and other military locations in Jizan and Najran,” boasted Houthi Military Spokesman Yahya Saria.
As noted above, the Houthi claims of having successfully striking their intended targets are false.
