A cluster of balloons carrying an explosive device were yet again launched by Islamist militants from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli territory. Mid-flight the explosive device reportedly disconnected from the balloons and exploded in the Eshkol regional council. While Israeli residents of a near-by village told TV7 that loud explosions were heard, no injuries or damage were reported.
In response, the Israeli Air Force targeted several Hamas military installations in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF spokesperson’s unit re-emphasized in a statement that it holds the internationally recognized terror group Hamas responsible for any terror activity that emanates from the Gaza Strip, and will respond to any attempt to harm Israeli civilians with determination.
