U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley warned Damascus not to resort to the use of Chemical Weapons in its quest to regain control of its war-torn-country – threatening Assad with dire consequences.
“The people of Syria have been through too much. This is a tragic situation. And if they want to continue to go the route of taking over Syria, they can do that. But they cannot do it with chemical weapons. They can’t do it assaulting their people and we’re not going to fall for it,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said.
During a press conference, the American ambassador to the world body announced that the member states of the Security Council have called for a session that will aim to discuss Idlib on Friday. Furthermore, Ambassador Haley announced that U.S. President Donald Trump plans to head a high-level session of the Security Council, during the month of September, that will focus on the destabilizing activities pursued by the Islamic Republic of Iran across the Middle East.
“Second, the president intends to chair a meeting of the Security Council and the topic will be on Iran. He is calling the meeting to address Iran’s violations of international law and the general instability Iran’s sows throughout the entire Middle East region,” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said.
