An Israeli Arab, who exited Jerusalem’s Temple Mount’ Majlis gate, attempted to stab an Israeli police officer, who was stationed near the entrance to the antient site.
The 30-year-old assailant, a resident of the northern Israeli-Arab town of Umm al-Fahm, was filmed by security cameras drawing – what appeared to be – a knife, after which he attempted to stab one of the officers that stood guard at a static police-security-post. After a brief physical altercation, the officers reportedly opened fire, neutralizing the attacker.
No injuries were reported among the police officers.
