The United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley announced that the Trump administration’s first draft of a Middle East peace plan is approaching its completion and will be presented in the near future, while claiming that its content “won’t be loved” by either side. Speaking during a question-and-answer session at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, ambassador Haley indicated that Trump’s negotiating team was “still going back and forth,” while emphasizing that while the notion of a two-state solution, even though still being publicly advocated by the Palestinians, was a matter for Israel and the Palestinians to decide. That said, the American U.N. ambassador indicated that it is hard to see how either side would want a bi-national one-state-solution, while adding that she thinks all parties involved “are pushing toward a two-state” outcome.
